Sun:  sun to partial shade

Water: keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Soil: cover with 1/8 inch of soil, use well-drained soil.

Temperature: 18 to 24 degrees Celsius (65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit)

Spacing: 5 pounds per acre, or 12 to 18 inches apart

Germination Time: three to four weeks


Chicory is slow to germinate, but is hardy once established.  It is an invasive, noxious weed in Colorado.  Chicory produces pale blue flowers.  It is a biennial and will produces leaves in the first year with blooms in the second year.
