Water: keep soil moderately moist during germination, do not overwater

Soil: cover with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of soil, rich, but well-drained

Temperature: 18 to 21 degrees Celsius (65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit)

Spacing: 1 inch spacing in rows about 12 inches apart

Germination Time: 7 to 10 days




Cilantro refers to the leaves, Coriander refers to the seeds, but they are the same plant.  Cilantro is also known as Chinese Parsley.  It is best known in the US for its use in Southwestern and Mexican cuisines.  Coriander is used in bread and cakes.  Cilantro is quick growing once started.  Cilantro is fairly short-lived in the garden and should be harvested while fresh.
