Eggplant requires warm temperatures to grow.  While 70 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit is adequate for germination, nighttime temperatures should not fall below 60 degrees.  For optimum growth, daytime temperatures should be 80 to 90 degrees.  Restrict the number of fruits per plant to ensure that each fruit grows to full size.
