Spacing: space plants 1 inches to seed, thinning to 10 inches apart  in rows about 18 inches apart

Germination Time: 7 to 14 days


Endive grows best in cool weather.  Plant in cool weather one to two weeks prior to the last frost.  Endive can be grown as an autumn crop, but is difficult to germinate in the summer heat.  Autumn grown endive tends to be less bitter.
