Water: keep soil consistently moist during germination, do not overwater, but water regularly, avoiding soggy soil conditions

Spacing: space seeds 6 inches apart in rows about 18 inches apart

Germination Time: 7 to 14 days


Peas should be trellised as they can grow 3 to 6 feet in height.  Peas are typically a cool climate crop, although some varieties such as Wando are more resistant to heat.  Peas can be planted as soon as soil temperatures reach 7 degrees Celsius (45 degrees Fahrenheit), although germination will be slower than listed above with the ideal germination temperatures.
