Water: keep soil consistently moist during germination, do not overwater, but water regularly, avoiding soggy soil conditions

Soil:  cover 1 inch with well-drained, loose, sandy to loam soil, rich in organic material

Temperature: 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (72 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit)

Spacing: space seeds 2 to 4 inches apart in rows about 2 feet apart

Germination Time: 4 to 10 days 


Beans are easy to grow, but should be direct sown in the location where they will mature.  Phaseolus vulgaris includes bush beans, pole beans and wax bush beans.
