Water: keep soil moderately moist during germination, do not overwater

Soil: cover with 1/8 inch, use well-drained soil.

Spacing: 10 pounds per acre for a meadow

Germination Time: 2 to 6 weeks




Gaillardia pulchella is native to Mexico, but can be found growing in British Columbia.  The Indian Blanket is Oklahoma's state wildflower and has a long blooming period from May until September.  Gaillardia makes an excellent cut flower as well with a vase life of up to 10 days.
