Sun: full sun preferred, but will tolerate partial shade

Water: keep soil moderately moist during germination, do not overwater, but maintain moisture even after established

Soil: cover with 1/8 inch, use fine, well-drained soil. 

Temperature: 13 to 16 degrees Celsius (55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit)

Spacing: 11 pounds per acre or 12 to 15 inches apart

Germination Time: 2 to 3 weeks


Easy to grow, larkspur makes an excellent cutflower and does best with direct sowing.  Larkspur (or delphinium) is available in a variety of colors including blue, lilac, rose, white and pink.  Note that all parts of the plant are poisonous and should not be ingested.
