Water: keep soil moderately moist during germination, do not overwater

Soil: cover with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rich, moist soil

Spacing: 8 inch spacing in rows about 18 inches apart

Germination Time: 2 to 3 weeks or more


Parsley is popular as a garnish and chewing on a few leaves will help freshen one's breath.  Parsley can be difficult to germinate.  Germination is aided by soaking the seeds overnight and/or placing on moistened peat and chilling in the refrigerator for a few days.  Parsley can be grown indoors with deeper pots to accommodate the taproot.
