Sage is a popular herb around Thanksgiving time as it goes well with poultry, cheeses, meats and stuffing.  Sage is one of the simpler herbs to grow, although the seed should be fresh.  Sage is rather hardy, but it can be killed off if the ground is saturated when it freezes.
