Sun: prefers full sun, but light shade is tolerated

Water: keep soil lightly moist during germination, keep moist conditions after germination

Spacing: 8 pounds per acre for a meadow, or 12 inches apart in rows

Germination Time: 1 1/2 to 4 weeks


Scarlet Sage produces spikes of bright red flowers which are attractive to bees and butterflies.  It grows as an annual or tender perennial.  Self seeds readily and will bloom from mid-summer until the first frost.
