Tomatillos are commonly used in Mexican cuisine, particularly salsa
verde or green salsa. Proper support must be provided for the plants as they grow up to six feet
tall. Tying to a trellis or using a cage is recommened. Tomatillo fruit mature with a
husk which is poisonous and should be removed prior to preparing the fruit for
consumption.
